A little over three years ago, I made a rather long winded post dissecting a Google AdWords scheme that had flitted across my radar. Today, I found an interesting post over at the official Google Blog from about a month ago.
I was sad to see that our little "friend" wasn't visibly tied to any of the blatantly obvious scammers Google's hauling to court over AdWords abuse this first round, but I'm sure his time is running out if it hasn't already. After all, the swill he was/is peddling is a near carbon copy to the ones being raked over the legal coals right now. As for his fate currently? He seems to have fallen off the face of the planet the past few months online-wise. Granted, my source is his Twitter account* directly tied to his website* falling silent after a solid year of updates, but when you stop whispering in the ears of your marks, you lose their confidence. Not that I wish harm upon the heads of any fellow human, but one wonders if karma has finally caught up with the man.
...we can only hope.
*I will not link this man or his sites until I see his name officially flit across the court dockets on the receiving end. That's just how I roll.

I can feel my I.Q. getting lower by the minute!
The past few weeks, I've been dusting off the old Windows support muscles and getting back into the swing of things. Today's post is going to be a first of likely many getting back to my roots... but I'm starting off in easy mode. To start, I'm going to start handing out my current list as of 2010 for Windows applications to just generally round out the blasted platform.
Today, I'll start with Internet based applications. As a cheat sheet, here's the short short:
Web Browsers
Mozilla Firefox w/AdBlock Plus and NoScript
SRWare Iron w/AdSweep and Privoxy but with reservations
E-Mail Clients
Mozilla Thunderbird w/Lightning
IM Clients
Pidgin w/OTR
Bittorrent Clients
Deluge
FTP Clients
FileZilla
Read on for slightly more in depth coverage as to why...
